Graduate 1:1 Teaching Assistant - ASD & Team Teach Experience Required - Southwark

In this exciting 1:1 Teaching Assistant position you will be working primarily on an individual basis with a pupil who has been identified as on the Autism Spectrum. Sometimes displaying disruptive behaviour and withdrawal from the learning process, the ideal 1:1 Teaching Assistant applicant will be someone who can explore innovative approaches ensuring improved engagement with the day to day teaching.

The preferred candidate for this 1:1 Teaching Assistant role will be a determined graduate who already has experience supporting SEN or more specifically children with ASD, Team Teach training will also make you very desirable to the school. The ability to engage pupils in the learning process is key and therefore you should be open and adept at exploring different teaching styles and techniques. You must be tenacious and determined, with the drive to overcome challenges and obstacles to learning through clear thinking and positivity. The appointed 1:1 Teaching Assistant can be assured of the fact they will be working within a school with a supportive culture, with the highly-skilled Special Educational Needs Coordinator on hand to offer guidance and support to you from your first day to the last.
