Fire Safety Advisor

North London

£280-£320pd

Fire Safety Advisor to provide competent advice and support, to the councils housing department regarding the management of fire safety across the councils residential and commercial portfolio.

To undertake fire risk assessments of complex and non-complex residential buildings and places of assembly.

To work in partnership with colleagues across the council and external agencies and support providers, to ensure the risk from fire to individuals, within their homes is suitably assessed and managed

Responsible for:

The provision of competent advice to colleagues in the housing department on all aspects of fire safety management

The delivery of suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments on a range of building types and complexities in defined timescales

The provision of advice and support to colleagues across council departments and third parties to ensure the risk to individuals from fire is adequately managed.

The liaison with the fire service in support of community engagement campaigns and local events within the borough.

Undertaking joint inspections with LFB enforcement officers as and when requested to do so, in furtherance of their duties.

The provision of competent technical advice at pre- application stage for new-build developments.

The provision of pre-occupation FRAs on purchased or new build building assets on behalf of the council or its subsidiaries.

The analysis of fire safety data to determine key trends and risks.

The completion of post fire FRA reviews/ investigations.

The provision of advice and support to colleagues following a major fire incident/ fatal fire.
