Our Client based in West London required an experienced Family Support Worker to join their local authority.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

* To offer professional support to families where children are identified with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties that are impacting on their development, attainment and general well being.


* To offer interventions designed to improve the capacity of families to offer effective parenting including direct parenting work, developing extended networks of support and aiding families in accessing appropriate financial, housing and child care entitlements.


* To offer support and advice to SAFE 0-18 team members in the areas outlined above.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

Level 3 NVQ qualification or other relevant qualification at equivalent or higher level.


Essential experience:


Experience of working with families where the children have been identified as having social, behavioural or emotional needs using a range of parenting and child focused interventions.

Post holders will be responsible for working with children and their families using evidence-based models of intervention to address a range of social, emotional and behavioural issues impacting on daily life. This includes developing strong networks around families to ensure access to professionals and services as well as support within their own community to sustain change.


Ideally, we are looking for people with a social care, family work, parenting support, mental health or youth service background who can demonstrate experience of casework with families, offering support, information and advice where positive outcomes were achieved.
