Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking a Family Link Social Worker to work within a Local Authority based in South London.

The Local Authority Family Link provides short breaks to children with disabilities aged 0-18 years old.The team is part of the All-Age Disability service. The team consists of a part-time practice manager and 3 full time Family Link Social workers. Some evening and/or Saturday work is involved which is taken back during the week. Experience of supporting fostering or short break carers and families of disabled children required.

The role of the Family Link Social Worker is -

  • To be involved in publicising the scheme and recruiting Family Link carers, including carrying out initial visits
  • To be involved in the training of Family Link carers
  • To match the needs of children to the skills of carers
  • To support and supervise the placements
  • To carry out regular supervisory visits including unannounced visits
  • To liase with the children's social workers and contribute to reviews as required
  • To work in line with the Fostering National Minimum Standards
  • To undertake yearly reviews of Family Link carers
  • To meet the diversity needs of both carers and their families and the children placed with them
  • To review the needs of children waiting for a service
  • To take part in project groups undertaking specific pieces of Family Link work as required
  • To undertake all administrative work duties related to the social work task
  • To undertake twice yearly reviews of children's placements
  • To develop and expand the Short Break service in line with the Short Breaks Duty and Care Planning Regulations and Fostering Minimum Standards

About you -

  • HCPC registered
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience within a Fostering/CWD Team
