Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Family Group Coordinator to work within an Early Help Team for a Local Authority based in South London.
Job Purpose
We are currently seeking experienced, flexible Early Help Workers to support our team during a period of reorganisation. The successful applicant will have a proven track record for working with vulnerable families, and undertaking Early Help Assessments. In addition the candidate will require experience of either using informal/formal Restorative Approaches or delivery of Family Group Conferences. A positive 'can do' attitude is essential along with a commitment to delivering support and interventions of the highest quality. A brief overview of some key duties can be found below, however post holders will be required to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the service during this transition period.
● To take cases allocated to the Early Help Service, including those where the needs are currently unknown. Proactively and assertively engage and support the most vulnerable and challenging children, young people and their families to strengthen the family and improve their outcomes, develop their resilience and reduce dependency upon specialist services.
● Lead and carry out high quality evidence based Early Help assessments, develop and implement high quality Early Help Support plans with families that are outcomes focused and designed to secure the best outcomes for children and young people
● To hold a mixed caseload, provide and coordinate intensive and structured support and intervention to families; to promote children's welfare and help parents to achieve better outcomes for their children, within their homes and communities. Direct work to include parenting support including 1:1 support within family homes and directly with children, their families and schools to improve school attendance for children missing education, those with persistent poor attendance
● To act as a key delivery agent of restorative practice across the organisation, including undertaking all necessary work to prepare children and families for participation in a restorative process (including both direct and indirect processes and FGC) and facilitating processes where required.
● Provide written reports and evidence of the work undertaken in accordance with departmental needs. Maintain clear, accurate records using a range of applications and packages that are timely and in line with agreed protocols
About you
- Must have experience of working as a FGC
- Experience of working in a local authority
- Enhanced DBS
- Full compliance required
