Job Purpose

Qualified Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional, EDT, Powys, up to £48ph

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Qualified Social Worker who is also an approved Mental Health Professional to join the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) within a local authority based in North Wales.

About the Role

The EDT responds to social work emergencies which need addressing outside normal office hours and which cannot wait until the next working day. Work is generated across all areas of social work to include vulnerable adults, children and families and Mental Health Services.


This specific role will be to deal with all requests for Mental Health Act assessments and adult referrals out of hours. The successful candidate will provide an "emergency out of hours" response for residents across the borough.

You should be able to demonstrate your ability to lone work.
You will need to have access to a vehicle in order to carry out this role effectively.

Essential requirements:

  • A social work qualification (degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised social work qualification
  • Approved Mental Health Professional
  • HCPC registration as a Social Worker
  • Car driver/owner essential

You will be required to fully register with Remedy for all locum positions.
