Educational Psychologist and locum Educational Psychologist
Job description
Bromley are looking for a Educational Psychologist and locum Educational Physchologist
The Educational Psychologist will:
|
· Provide information, advice and intervention on the developmental, learning, psychological and other needs of young children and pupils;
· Demonstrate a commitment to creative and forward thinking Educational Psychology practice, and have the skills to apply this to a range of stakeholders and service users;
|
· Assess, advise and recommend appropriate intervention for the needs of children and young people aged 0-25 particularly vulnerable children, those with behavioural difficulties and special educational needs;
· Be familiar with and promote the implementation of the Bromley's SEND strategy;
|
· Advise on pupils whose behaviour puts them at risk of exclusion;
· Show a commitment to a consultative approach of Educational Psychology practice;
|
· Present psychological advice that is effective, concise, timely and meets standards set by legislation, Bromley Council and the Educational Psychology Service;
|
· Support, inform and empower parents, carers and children and young people;
|
· Contribute to training and development work with pre- school providers, schools, parents, governors and professional groups;
|
· Work collaboratively and contribute to the development of efficient and effective inter-agency partnerships;
|
· Maintain high standards of practice, record keeping and report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice, the policies and procedures of the Educational Psychology Service;
|
· Develop best practice in Educational Psychology through active participation in continuing professional development.
· Represent the Educational Psychology Service when required at panels, borough initiatives, organisational level work etc.
· Be flexible in their ability to apply their skills and knowledge in a variety of situations applicable to Educational Psychology practice.

Undertake other tasks and projects, commensurate with the level of the post and relevant to educational psychology as required by the Principal Educational Psychologist.
