***SEN Teaching Assistant To Start ASAP***

***EAL Teaching Assistant To Start ASAP***

A lovely Secondary school based in Southwark are looking for SEN Teaching Assistant & a EAL Teaching Assistant to start at their school as soon as possible.The candidate will provide support to students in Year 11 who are Hispanic with an Education Health Care Plan. The EAL Teaching Assistant will be required to;

Teach English and support the learning of EAL pupils (pupils with English as a second language).

Successful candidates will be offered a long-term post until the end of the academic year (July 2019) with the possibility of a permanent contract with the school from September 2019

1) SEN TA (full time, Monday to Friday)

ESSENTIAL Requirements

  • Experience of working with and supporting children in schools with EHCP with complex learning needs.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent spoken English.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Speech and Language Interventions to support pupil
  • An ability to build positive relationships with children and other adults in the school and community
  • Strong organisation skills and an ability to maintain accurate and appropriate records
  • A calm, supportive manner and a willingness to be adaptable
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Ability to speak in Hispanic

DESIRABLE Requirements

  • Ability to use Makaton
  • Ability to adapt learning materials

2) EAL TA (full time, Monday to Friday)

ESSENTIAL Requirements

  • Experience of working with children in schools with EAL
  • Experience of teaching the National Curriculum
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Excellent communication skillls
  • Excellent spoke English
  • An ability to build positive relationships with children and other adults in the school and community
  • A calm, supportive manner and a willingness to be adaptable/flexible
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Ability to speak other languages spoken in the community (e.g Hispanic )
