COUNCIL TAX OFFICER
Remedy Recruitment are working in partnership with the local authority in Cambridge and currently seeking an experienced a Council Tax Officer.
**Salary - £18 PER HOUR**
**Full Time.**
**Start- ASAP**
Job Purpose.
To oversee the Council Tax billing and collection team. To ensure the team responds to correspondence quickly and with quality. To have an in-depth knowledge of Council Tax legislation and give advice and guidance as necessary
Main duties and responsibilities-
- To line manage a team by carrying out 1:1's
- To allocate work and monitor individual performance
- To ensure liabilities for Council Tax are processed, including discounts and exemptions
- To deal with correspondence and contacts from customers relating to Council Tax
- To contact customers to obtain information to enable accurate billing of Council Tax
- To deal with more complex queries from customers relating to their Council Tax
- To keep staff up to date with any changes
- To assist the Revenues Manager in the drafting of complaint responses
- To have a mature and understanding approach, with the ability to be sympathetic but firm when necessary and tactful when dealing with difficult customers
- As a customer focused role, be able to communicate with our customers at the agreed level
- To comply fully with the Council's Health and Safety at Work Policy
- To comply fully with the Council's IT Security Policy
The successful candidate will require-
