This Council's Quality Improvement, Children's Social Care service is currently seeking 2 full time, Chairperson's who will be responsible for chairing child protection conferences and providing a quality assurance role for children subject to Child protection processes. The Local Authority uses strengthening families approach for all our conferences and a child advocacy project ensures all children over 12 years are given the opportunity to attend and contribute to their conferences.
You will be able to build positive and effective relationships with professionals, families and children and be able to identify both poor and good practice. You must also have the confidence to challenge when practice standards fall below a good level or when a child's needs are not being addressed. You will also possess the ability to communicate with all levels of management as well as with children of all ages.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated; you will have significant relevant conference chairing experience, a good understanding of the Relationship / strengthening families model and the ability to put the child at the centre of your practice. You will also be registered with the HCPC as a Social Worker holding a recognised social work qualification. A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) is also required.
