Job description

Our client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible, ideally before the departing officer leaves to enable a period of shadowing/handover.

It is envisioned that the post would be required for 3-6 months in the first instance.

Bromley Council requires a suitably qualified senior housing manager with experience of leading teams which operate a lettings service (temporary accommodation and housing association nominations via direct lettings and online choice based lettings) and overseeing the running of a housing register.

They are currently implementing a large scale IT project (due to go live in October 2019) therefore experience of introducing new systems / project management would be highly beneficial.

They will have three direct reports: The Allocations Team Manager, Housing Register Team Manager and Senior Housing OT (this is general supervision as professional support and guidance is provided separately).

Bromley do not have their own housing stock therefore experience of managing nominations with housing associations / third party providers is essential.

They will need exceptional performance monitoring skills and be able to effectively manage relationships with our Housing Association Providers and other key partners. This will involve chairing contract monitoring meetings as well as developing processes and resolving issues to best meet the council's priorities.

The role will involve overseeing the statutory compliance of the two teams and regular contact with solicitors, councillors and MPs, therefore a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the relevant parts of the Housing Act with a particular emphasis on Suitability of Accommodation is required.

If you are interested in this role please send your updated CV in the first instance.
