Duties of this role will be to;

1. Undertake the technical and professional work of the Building Control Service to ensure compliance with Statutory Requirements and with the corporate strategy and priorities of the council.

2. Examine applications in a timely manner to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation and to deal with applicants and/or their agents when revisions or further information is required.

3. Inspect, control and monitor building operations throughout the building process.

4. Dealt with day to day correspondence and enquiries from members of the pubic and their professional advisers relating to Building Control.

5. Maintain full and accurate records of all activities in accordance with established good practices.

6. Work alongside officers within the Planning Development Team to share knowledge and expertise in support of a development management approach.

7. Work and consult with other council teams and organisations in seeking to provide a "one stop shop" for development advice.
