Bereavement Services - Grounds Manager -

To be responsible for the management of cemeteries and staff to the standards set by the 'Charter of the Bereaved',
To ensure that all plant and equipment is effectively used and that the burial process complies with all relevant legislation and codes of practice,
To ensure that burial services and all related aspects are sensitively managed and meet the varied personal, cultural and religious expectations of the bereaved.
To ensure the quality of service is such that income is maintained and where possible increased by attracting additional burials.
To manage all grounds maintenance and the grounds maintenance contract.
To assist in the development of new memorialisation project and other projects related to improving the grounds in the cemeteries and crematorium.
To be available at any time for 'emergencies' necessitating use of the Bereavement Services, to enact emergency and contingency procedures in the event of major fatalities occurring in the Borough including a flu pandemic.
To assist the HOBS with implementation of an ongoing improvement strategy and associated projects and taking a lead role in delivering such schemes.
To manage and co-ordinate repairs and maintenance work to all grounds and buildings.
