This role specialises in;

* Children and young people who are at imminent risk of becoming looked after
* Children and young people who have been made subject to police protection and where the care plan is for reunification
* Children and young people who have unexpected come into care after a crisis/breakdown

This is a high profile area for the Council with the aim of reducing the numbers of children, especially adolescents, coming into care.

The role is required to have knowledge of (and provide expert advice on) edge of care principles, including supporting parents and understanding the vulnerabilities of children and young people living in the borough. This includes children going missing, exploitation, gangs and offending.
