Job description

Are you looking for an exciting new role working with young people in Lewisham? Remedy Education are looking for a teaching assistant for a local primary school to start immediately.

In brand new premises and in a fantastic location, easily accessible via local public transport links you will be joining a friendly and welcoming team of education professionals supporting a variety of children at primary ages. Experience within a similar role or school would be ideal as you will be expected to work both independently and as a team to support the young learners in your care.

This particular role is to support the children within the school that have SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) needs and in particular a young student in KS2 with Global Delay and sever Autism.

With a dynamic team around you, you will be well supported in this role. You will also have access to excellent training opportunities, including CPD training sessions which are beneficial for this role.

Candidates with behaviour resolution and de-escalation techniques, such a Team Teach would be favoured for this role given the challenging needs for the individual pupil you will be caring for. With challenging behaviour experience you will be confident in building rapport with the student and will be able to apply various skills to engage the pupil so that they can access their full potential. The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude and a resilient personality, with a creative and flexible approach to teaching which builds success through challenge, personalisation and innovation.
