Job description
Remedy Recruitment Group are looking for an Anti Social Behaviour Officer for Local Authority in East London.
Job Purpose
In conjunction with the ASB team manager to resolve cases of low level, complex and/ or persistent anti social behaviour, harassment and domestic violence. To undertake detailed investigations, gathering evidence, supporting witnesses and preparing files for court and giving evidence.
To assist in the delivery of a consistent, effective and customer focused anti social behaviour service for tenants and leaseholders borough wide.
To seek innovative solutions to resolve a wide variety of tenancy problems in conjunction with other individuals, groups and agencies.
To deliver ad hoc training sessions on anti social behaviour and help promote best practice for a variety of agencies and groups across the borough.
To work with the Team Manager - ASB and meet with tenants and residents to discuss, share and promote anti social behaviour good practice and to empower communities to work with Hackney Council in its response to anti social behaviour.
To assist in ensuring the required information exchange on anti social behaviour with partner agencies and promote best practice in the field.
In partnership with enforcement agencies to input case management information and assist in implementing an effective system for the recording and monitoring of anti social behaviour incidents across Hackney Council to establish and evaluate progress on anti social behaviour.
To identify preventative measures to resolve ASB disputes and make the necessary referrals to mediation and witness support services to address anti social behaviour across Hackney Council managed estates.
To attend public and inter agency meetings as directed by the ASB team manager and to provide feedback to the manager in relation to anti social behaviour.
To facilitate multi agency problem solving groups and to take a lead role in drawing up and agreeing anti social behaviour action plans.
To be responsible for writing informative and balanced delegated decision reports requesting authority to commence anti social behaviour enforcement action. To regularly audit case files for consistency and in relation to best practice.
To make recommendations to the ASB team manager in the management of neighbour disputes cases, nuisance harassment, domestic violence, racial and disability harassment and hate crime as required.
To interview anti social behaviour complainants and witnesses and develop appropriate action plans which are regularly reviewed. To ensure complainants and witnesses are regularly updated in accordance with the agreed action plan.
To draft and prepare detailed statements from witnesses for court action providing witness support as required. To attend court and case conferences as a representative of Hackney Councils ASB & Estate Safety service.
To provide support and advice to individuals and families, making referrals for both victims and perpetrators to other agencies for support. To respond sensitively to the needs of witnesses including liaison with support agencies and consider security measures where relevant.
You will need to be:
