Fantastic and rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated SEN Teacher to work on behalf of an independent school supporting young people and promote social inclusion for a local borough in the South East of London. This fantastic new project and programme of work that is funded by the local authority are looking to recruit a passionate and motivated SEN Teacher to work with a small team of professionals from different disciplines and to go into schools in the Borough of Croydon and work with young people at the risk of exclusion.
This post would suit someone who enjoys teaching pupils with challenging behaviour and is committed to developing and improving the curriculum.
The purpose of this role would include to plan, prepare and teach programmes of work to groups of key stages 3&4 pupils, many of whom may have special educational needs and/or SEBD and who are under threat of exclusion from mainstream schools. Other duties will include preparing and entering pupils for internal and examinations tests.
Ideally you will hold a recognised teaching qualification and ability to teach students with SEN. It is essential that you have had experience of working with pupils who have emotional, behavioural and/or medical difficulties and in addition have taught pupils with special educational needs in a variety of modes including individual, group and classroom teaching.
